“One day your child will make a mistake or a bad choice and run to you instead of away from you and in that moment you will know the immense value of peaceful, positive, respectful parenting.”
Comprehending that February is upon us is a somewhat daunting thought! The clichéd expression, “the weeks are flying by” remains ever true.
Reflecting on the week that has (almost) been, I have thought of many highlights. Seeing a child who has always been more than reluctant to venture on a school trip and outing, finally doing so, enjoying him/herself immensely and wholly involved, is a highlight for me. That moment, is what makes teaching (and parenting) so rewarding. As I look at the photographs on our Facebook page of our children engaged in good, clean and wholesome fun (and the contexts are varied), I am reminded again about the many things that we do get right at Clifton Notties.
Another highlight is seeing our 56 new children (Grade 00 – 7) settling into the rhythm of Clifton life. Although I am not sure whether the rhythm is a fast tango/jive/foxtrot or a slow waltz… The fact is that 56 new children joined us at the beginning of this year. I am more than excited by our growing numbers, as having “depth” in our numbers is vital and the evidence thereof most heartening.
