“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”

Eleanor Roosevelt

Dear Parents/Guardians

Often quoted words by Eleanor Roosevelt, but words which reflect what many of our Grade 7s and staff who are retiring are involved in: dreaming and thinking about the future. The next few days will see many “last of” moments, and I (and the staff) look forward to sharing these special moments with everyone concerned.

The next few days will see a multitude of activities taking place: Musical Recitals, SP Art exhibitions, Dads and Lads Cricket, Grade 00, 0 and 1 Orientation morning, Grade 7 Leavers’ Week programme, Carol Services, Final assemblies, SP Prize Giving…the list is an exciting and endless one!

After nearly 18 years at Clifton Notties, my PA Mrs Colleen Bosse, leaves behind a significant legacy at Clifton as she retires at the end of the year. I am delighted to announce that Mrs Linsey (Ling) Wynne has been appointed as my Personal Assistant from 2020. Ling brings with her many years of experience…as well as being a passion parent of a Clifton Notties. Both her children are/were pupils at Clifton Notties. I am also very pleased to welcome Mr Hala Xulu onto our permanent staff. Having been an intern for the past few years at Clifton and now a qualified teacher, Mr Xulu has played an invaluable role in our sporting programme and in the Sports’ Department. He will responsible for the Physical Education programme/curriculum of our children as well as involved in teaching some isiZulu classes. I look forward to his contribution.
The calendar for Term 1 2020 will be made available in the days ahead. There are some new changes of traditional times of meetings. ‘The devil is in the detail” as they say. I will highlight the important changes.

I wish you many happy minutes/hours as you attend the various functions with your children and family in the next few days. These are moments to treasure. We look forward to sharing them with you.

Have a good weekend!
Kind regards.
