Headmaster’s eNewsletter – 11 September 2019
‘Wise people learn when they can; fools learn when they must!’
“Love of learning, is a habit that good schools inculcate in young people. You’ll need it at university, at work, and simply to make the most of enjoying life.”
Duke of Wellington
And, here we are, with a week to go until school closes for the September holidays. How this term has flown!
The staff and children are enjoying an exciting Literature Week full of wonderful and interesting story telling, culminating in the ‘Trashion Show’ tomorrow. A full write-up with photos will be in the final e-news of the term next week.
A reminder of the IT and Sports’ Department presentation in the Chapel at 18h00 this evening. Light refreshments will be served from 17h30. The presentations will provide valuable information about philosophies, vision etc, while the IT presentation will also focus on (amongst other things) our children’s use of social media. It promises to be a valuable set of presentations with the opportunity for questions too.
I will be away at the National Independent Schools’ Headmaster’s Conference from Monday 16 – Thursday 19 September. Mr Peter Quinn and Mrs Lorna Bruwer will be available for any queries and/or concerns.
I wish you well for the week ahead.
