“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” Benjamin Franklin
An often-quoted sentence by Benjamin Franklin, but words that are forever true, no matter what the context is…adult and child alike!
The past few days and weeks reinforce the holistic “hands-on learning” received at Clifton Notties. One has only to look at the numerous Facebook posts and hear anecdotal stories from our children to see that the “involve me in the learning process” message is of paramount importance to our approach about learning at Clifton – be it inside or outside the classroom.
Last night, the Ensemble Evening in our Chapel hosted by Clifton with visiting school instrumental ensemble groups from The Wykeham Collegiate and Epworth Primary School, was superb. My thanks go to Ms Cathryn Calitz under whose guidance our Band has grown immeasurably. What a wonderful evening of entertainment it was!
By all accounts, the annual Grade 6 parent/child Wild Coast Hike was a huge success. It is an invaluable time for parent and child to bond. It is a tradition which I hope never disappears. The photos of the hike reflect the fun had by all!
