Dear Parents / Guardians

“If you don’t stick to your values when they’re being tested, they’re not values: they’re hobbies.”
Jon Stewart

The next few weeks are going to see a number of workshops being held with various stakeholder groups. The groups of staff, parents, children, Board, past pupils etc will be analyzing, discussing and engaging with our existing vision, mission and values. This is a valuable exercise in ensuring that that which is at the heart of Clifton remains the Clifton we love.

As reflected in our constitution and on the website, it would be timeous to be reminded what our VISION, MISSION and VALUES are:

MISSION To provide a home from home for all our children, utilising our unique and beautiful surroundings. We aim to establish sound academic structures within small classes while focussing on developing the individuality of each child. We acknowledge the potential of each child to make a difference, and in so doing equip our boys and girls to face the challenges of life in contemporary South Africa and the world in general.

VISION To be the ideal place to grow children.

VALUES Clifton Preparatory School is an inclusive inter-denominational Christian school. We hold the values of honesty, integrity and tolerance at our core. In all areas of pursuit, fair play, good manners and wholehearted effort are encouraged. Good citizenship is developed in our children to assist them in becoming contributing members of whatever community they live in.

I thank those of you who are participating in these workshops, in advance, and in particular Mrs Kerry Witherspoon and Mr Gavin Erasmus who have and will be facilitating the process.
