“Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others.”
Marcus Tullius Cicero
At this week’s assembly (see the photo of the altered venue (the Indoor Centre) for Senior Primary assembly…as per Covid protocol, ensuring pods and all!), I focussed on the theme of having an attitude of gratitude, and how, by “giving thanks” – no matter what the context, is part of showing gratitude. And we do have so much to be grateful for – I believe we intentionally need to be mindful of that.
I have wandered down to the various clubs over the past 2 weeks on a Friday afternoon- seeing happy staff and children engaged in a variety of healthy and meaningful activities is certainly more than gratifying to see. Despite the situation, I am grateful for what we are able to and want to provide for our children. The photos below, of the various activities, reflect a small portion of what is on offer: from home economics, golf, trail running, book making to mountain biking and fishing…the list is growing.
As mentioned in my letter last week, there are still a number of activities (traditionally associated with the 4th Quarter) which have been planned but which have not been reflected on the calendar as the dates and venues are fluid. Watch this space. A Family Day at a specified venue with a myriad of activities (possibly linked to the clubs- the format is yet to be decided) is envisaged. Communication will be available shortly. One thing that Covid-19 has revealed and made us all the more grateful for – is FAMILY TIME – and to cherish it.
